Studying Dastgahs in the Music of Iran

The formal music of Iran, which is categorized as a series of Radifs (ballads) and Dastgahs (musical modal systems), organizes songs mostly based on intervals and staffs. This is done so that musical improvisation or composing of music can take place based on fixed and clear tones.
